Welcome to my portfolio!
The purpose of this portfolio is to showcase my progress as an honors student at Minnesota State University, Mankato. The honors program has afforded me the opportunity to develop leadership skill, cultural competencies and professional development. The following portfolio has been constructed to allow you to better understand and follow my progress.
About Me
I was born and raised in Bloomington Minnesota in a family of 7 children. Most of my adult life has been focused on healthcare and treatment of the mentally ill. In retirement I have decided to pursue a more relaxed approach to life by studying the fine arts.

I completed an Associates of Arts Degre with an emphasis on art from Normandale Community College. I am on track to complete my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree May of 2025. After completion I may consider a Master of Fine Art degree or just simple make art.

Mission Statement
My focus at this stage in my life is to find new ways to impact society through the use of art, culture jamming, education and empowering others through art.
ARTIST STATEMENT
Provoke the Ego. I approach each piece I am working on intending to get the viewer involved. I cannot think about creating a piece of work that is intended to just be aesthetically pleasing. If I create an enigmatic non-narrative piece, will it be used by the viewer as a blank slate and cause a cathartic reaction? I look at my work, not with myself in mind but with the viewer. Can I provoke the viewer to tell me a story about themself, or get the viewer to think about culture, war, love, and the environment in ways they have not considered? I have spent most of my professional career as a practitioner of the human condition and my art I consider to be a tool to reach a better understanding.
